Baba Mountain

Baba or Baba Mountain is a mountain located in the southwestern part of the Republic of Macedonia, located a few miles west of city Bitola . According to the surface that covers (436 km2) it is the thirteenth, and according to height (Pelister 2601 m) third mountain in the country.
In 1948, due to the natural beauty, historical and scientific significance of forests and forest areas on the mountain Baba, one part of an area of 12 500 hectares, has been declared a national park.
Baba is located between Pelagonija east and Prespa valley west. It actually represents Horst between these two valleys.Approximately 65% of the Baba mountain range located in the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, with 35% of the territory of Greece.






Baba stretches in a direction from north to south, and also characterized by a symmetrical appearance, because the mountain was equally distant from Prespa valley and Pelagonija.

There are 24 mountain peaks higher than 2000 meters. Most important peaks Baba:

Baba mountain climate, and as such suitable for the development of mountain tourism (winter and summer). Tourism began to be developed between the First and Second World War. The slopes of the mountain were built more tourist recreation, hiking and sports facilities. The most attractive hotel is Molika, while there are mountain homes Kopanki and large lakes.
